Cookie policy
The short version: we use the cookies needed to keep you signed in and remember your settings, and nothing else. There's no cookie banner because there's nothing to consent to beyond what makes the app work.
What we use
Authentication
Keeps you signed in between visits, and keeps track of which family member a shared device is currently acting as. Refresh tokens are stored as HTTP-only cookies, so JavaScript can't read them. Strictly necessary — the app can't function without these.
Preferences
Remembers device-level choices, like whether a tablet is set up as a shared family display. Optional — clearing them resets those settings but doesn't break anything.
What we don't use
- Advertising or retargeting cookies. We don't run ads anywhere.
- Tracking pixels, including from social platforms.
- Third-party analytics that profile visitors. No Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no session recording.
- Cross-site tracking of any kind.
This marketing site sets no cookies at all. Everything above applies to the app at app.focalnest.com.
Managing them
Every browser lets you view and delete cookies in its settings. Clearing FocalNest's will sign you out and reset device preferences; it won't affect your account or your family's data. Blocking cookies entirely will prevent you from staying signed in.
Fonts
This site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers when a page loads. Google receives your IP address as part of that request. No cookie is set by it.
