Delete your account

You can delete your FocalNest account and everything in it at any time. This page explains how, what gets removed, and how long it takes.

Deleting from the app

  1. Sign in at app.focalnest.com.
  2. Open Settings and choose Me.
  3. Scroll to Your data and choose Delete my account.
  4. Confirm. We'll email you to acknowledge the request, with a link to cancel it if you change your mind.

If you're the only admin on a family, deleting your account deletes the family and every member's data along with it. You'll be warned before that happens.

Deleting by email

If you can't sign in, email privacy@focalnest.com from the address on the account, with "Delete my account" in the subject line. We'll verify it's you and confirm once it's done. Expect a reply within 7 business days.

Deleting a child's account

Parents and guardians can delete a child's account from the Parental Controls dashboard in Settings, without deleting the rest of the family. From the same screen you can review or export everything collected about that child first, and withdraw consent for further collection.

See the Children's Privacy section of our privacy policy for the full set of parental rights.

What gets deleted, and when

Immediately

Your account is deactivated and you're signed out everywhere. Nobody can sign back in.

30-day grace period

Your data is retained but inaccessible, in case the deletion was a mistake. Email us within 30 days to cancel it. After that the deletion can't be undone.

After 30 days

Everything is permanently removed: your profile, tasks, projects and routines, calendar events, notifications, preferences, collectibles, and any connected calendar tokens.

Within 90 days

Your data ages out of our encrypted database backups.

Some records are kept longer where the law requires it — billing and tax records held by our payment processor, for example. Those contain transaction details, not your family's task or calendar content.

Want a copy first?

You can export everything as JSON from Settings before you delete. It's worth doing — after the grace period ends there's nothing left to recover.

What about my subscription?

Deleting your account cancels the subscription. If you'd rather just stop being billed and keep your data, cancel from billing settings instead — you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
